KOS Cookbook Book Club: September 23 - Lugma: Abundant Dishes And Stories From My Middle East

About the Book
Lugma: Abundant Dishes and Stories From My Middle East by Noor Murad is a vibrant celebration of Gulf cuisine, rooted in her Bahraini upbringing. While many Middle Eastern cookbooks lean toward Mediterranean flavors, Lugma shines a light on the dishes of Bahrain and the Persian Gulf—where aromatic spices, dried black limes, and abundant herbs come together in unforgettable ways.

Murad also highlights the region’s natural connections with its neighbors: the bold chili heat and spice of India, the fresh and colorful touches of the Levant, and the deep herbal traditions of Iran. Each recipe is paired with stories that capture the warmth, generosity, and cultural richness of gathering around the table.

More than a cookbook, Lugma is an invitation to taste the Middle East through a Gulf lens—abundant, aromatic, and rooted in tradition.
